Local communities

We support communities by tackling hunger and malnutrition, helping local communities in areas such as employment, skills and training and sourcing Fairtrade, local and sustainable produce.

By establishing long-term partnerships, we look to play an active role in local community development.

Redistributing food to those in need

Through our global Stop Hunger campaign, Sodexo supports FareShare in the UK. FareShare, in turn, supports 1,200 charities by redistributing food that would otherwise be waste.

One of the beneficiaries of this partnership is Providence Row in London. In addition to receiving food deliveries from FareShare, in FY2014 Providence Row also received a grant from the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation. As a result, the Foundation has supported the work of the charity both directly and indirectly during the year.

Darren found himself homeless after being made redundant. Through Providence Row, he has learnt cooking skills and is now a qualified chef. He dreams of opening his own restaurant one day.
