While on patrol at Central Manchester University Hospitals, Joe was faced with a very difficult situation and his quick thinking not only saved a life, it earned him Healthcare’s quarterly CEO award. Simon Scrivens explains why he chose Joseph for the top accolade.
“Joe found a patient who had attempted to commit suicide and was struggling to breathe. He acted quickly to provide assistance to the patient and prevent the incident becoming fatal. I’m very proud of him. He took immediate action, reassuring and calming down the patient. He then alerted his colleagues, who came to administer first aid. All of this resulted in the individual being later discharged from A&E with no lasting injuries.”
