Yiannoulla Kleovoulou proved her service spirit during a very challenging month at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus. Faced with week-long strike action undertaken by civilian employees of the MOD, the Sodexo team on site had to show strong commitment to keep our service running as smoothly as possible.
Yiannoulla and her small team of cleaners volunteered to spend the remainder of the week on site, sleeping in military block accommodation away from their families to cover Akrotiri’s cleaning until the end of the strike action.
Yiannoulla worked tirelessly in very humid and hot conditions to help clean not only the priority areas but those as well that she deemed were important to the operational tempo of RAF Akrotiri. She didn’t even stop there, and went on to clean the air terminal, air traffic control and retail and leisure outlets.
On the fourth day of the strike, and after some very long and tiring days, the medical centre asked for urgent help following a serious road traffic accident and again she stepped into help with her team. Great support in a tough situation!
