WasteLESS Week is a five-day campaign that Sodexo teams run during October at client sites around the world. In 2018, the Sodexo UK & Ireland WasteLESS Week took place between the 22 - 26 October.
In the UK and Ireland, the focus was plastic reduction. Over 12 billion tonnes of plastic waste will be in landfills or the natural environment by 2050. This is one of the reasons why Sodexo believes that less waste means increased quality of life and therefore reducing waste is one of our key Better Tomorrow 2025 commitments.
The team at Stryker Belfast (Corporate Services) in Northern Ireland were crowned the 2018 winners of the annual WasteLESS Week trophy.
Sodexo business manager Pamela Millar, headed up the site team’s campaign and is passionate about reducing waste and promoting sustainable business practices.
Supporting Pamela’s vision, the client issued re-useable cups to all on site staff and banned plastic cups. This has created not just an environmental benefit, but a cost saving in cups. Find out more about the team’s WasteLESS Week journey here.
