Support our prison rehabilitation enterprises

Sodexo Justice Services has been helping to change lives for the better since 1993. HMP Peterborough runs several initiatives to rehabilitate offenders and reduce re-offending following release. The Government has called for prisons to become places of real work and meaningful activity — and we’re leading the way through workshops and skills training.

Jailbirds:

Handmade greetings cards, coasters, badges and mugs as well as a design & re-branding service. See below for details of how to order Christmas cards.

Gaol Craft:

Handcrafted sustainable re-purposed pallet wood furniture and products as well as bespoke carpentry commissions. See below for details of how to order Gaol Craft products.

Vita Nova:

Catering for events and meetings, buffets, cakes and 'lunch behind bars' - a la carte two course meal from within the prison grounds. Contact Shashi Patel at: Shashi.Patel@sodexojusticeservices.com to make a booking.

Pricing & charities:

All of these entreprises equip residents with the skills to change their lives and find paid employment following their release.

We set our prices for services and products in the same way as any other local business. This ensures we are reasonably priced and ethical in our commercial operation. As a prison we do not make profit from any of our sales. Instead, all monies are divided three ways;

  • One third is donated to the national charity ‘Stop Hunger’.

  • One third is donated to local charities including ‘Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall’ and we have donated over £15,000 over the last six years.

  • One third is reinvested into workshops, buying tools, equipment and resources that will in turn further enrich resident’s learning process.
