A cruise down the Thames, trip on the London Eye, award presentation and fantastic dinner followed by a live band and dancing – it was all part of 2018’s celebration of Sodexo’s long servers on Thursday (25 October).

The annual event is one of the highlights of the Sodexo calendar and this year 170 people representing every business segment travelled to the Tower Hotel, London, to enjoy a beautiful autumn day in the capital.

Sodexo honoured recipients celebrating 20, 30 and 40 years of service, and regional chairman Sean Haley joined the guests to personally present the awards.

HR’s Sarah Perry spoke at the event to say thank you for the “dedication and loyalty”, adding that, “as a service business, you are our greatest asset.”

Guests were treated to a packed itinerary taking in some of London’s top sights, with plenty of time to socialise with colleagues. Many were bowled over by the commitment shown by Sodexo to rewarding loyalty.

David Whiteside, an operational support manager at the Police Service Northern Ireland contract, was celebrating a 30-year milestone, and said: ‘We got up very early to get our flight here but it’s been worth it. What an amazing day – so well organised and we’ve been made to feel really special.”

Joseph Brown, a driver with Healthcare Home Service for 30 years, loved the hotel location on the banks of the Thames and said the event ‘had the wow factor.”

Julie M. - Couldn't attend long service awards due to long term illness. Which I here from other colleagues is a great event. But still now in December had or heard nothing to say thank you or well done. Made to feel valued? What do you think? Thank you sodexo
