As you know, the date for Brexit, the exit of the UK from the European Union, is Friday, 29 March 2019. With less than two months to go, I wanted to let you know that Sodexo has prepared for this exit.
Whether or not a deal is agreed, we are determined to ensure that our people, partners, clients and consumers will continue to be served to the best of our abilities now and after Brexit.
We are at advanced stages of preparations. Our Brexit Taskforce has been getting ready since the result of the referendum and we have robust plans that support the availability of food, equipment and our people in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. We have shared this information with contract managers and will continue to update them over the coming weeks.
I also know that this is an unsettling time for many colleagues. I want to make clear that Sodexo has always welcomed employees whether they are local, have come from the EU, or indeed any other part of the world. We are not just a global business - we are a global team.
And what makes us different is our values. I believe Sodexo’s values have never been so important. They can help us through this uncertain time.
-
Service Spirit - getting better at what we do and making our customers feel welcome
-
Team Spirit - pulling together to do our best
-
Spirit of Progress - speaking up, seeking help and keeping our customers front of mind
I encourage you all to talk to your HR business partner or line manager if you have questions or concerns. Other resources you may find helpful are:
-
Gov.UK - advice from the Government
-
Sodexo Supports Me - for access to financial, legal, counselling and information advice and support. This service is 24 hours, free, confidential and can be used by you or a member of your close family. Call UK: 0800 072 7072; Ireland: 1 800 62 60 37 or from abroad: +44 141 559 6487.
Thank you for the service you give every day. We will update you and your team leaders over the coming weeks through our internal communication channels as the details behind Brexit become clearer.
Kind regards,
Sean Haley
Regional Chair UK & Ireland on behalf of the RLC and the Brexit Taskforce
