Staying vigilant through change

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve explored how existing processes and Sodexo’s 3 Checks for Safety are still as relevant as ever, even with new ways of working becoming the norm.
We’re all juggling responsibilities in the new normal, however, we already know that when more people are aware of, highlight and deal with hazards and near misses the less likely that accidents are to happen.

One of Sodexo’s back to basics preventatives are Safety Walks which support our zero-harm culture and encourage positive safety conversations and behaviours.
This year’s Have a Safe Day Awards have seen the Diageo contract team commended for their work in creating an interactive toolkit that puts you in the shoes of a virtual Safety Walk. The toolkit educates what near misses and hazards to look out for as well as highlights the importance of reporting them.
This week we’re encouraging everyone to use this toolkit. It is vital we all stay vigilant and know how to spot and report near misses and hazards to reduce the opportunity for potentially harmful accidents to occur.
Speak to your line manager or H&S lead to find out how to access the toolkit and keep on top of your safety game.
