Getting to know your new EAP

Time 41 days ago Comments 0 comments

On Tuesday 1 December, we launched our new wellbeing offer for colleagues, Talk, representing a host of new tools and services to help you to maintain positive wellbeing, as well as additional assistance when you need it most.

As part of this offer, we have selected a new partner to provide our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). Vita Health Group is a UK-based company with over 30 years' experience in  'workplace wellness' services, and will provide us with telephone, face-to-face and online support for colleagues.

The new EAP takes over from Sodexo Supports Me. Along with an enhanced support package, colleagues will receive access to a website jam-packed with useful articles, videos and surveys to support better wellbeing.

Why not take a look with us now?

  1. Head to
  2. Enter the organisation code sodexowell
  3. After logging in, you can get started by taking part in the individual self-assessment, which provides you with a score based on the information you provide. You can then track this over time, as you manage your physical and mental wellbeing.
  4. At the top of the page, you'll see a navigation bar, which helps to point you towards the advice you're looking for. Topics are organised by:
    • My home life - provides information and advice on many of the experiences, challenges and emotions you may be faced with around: relationships, children and adolescents, and loss and bereavement.
    • My work life - looks at issues and challenges you may encounter during the course of your work including: change management, skills development, working relationships and dealing with different personalities, and any workplace incidents.
    • My wellbeing - this section supports you in taking proactive steps to enable you to look after both your physical and emotional health. It will also provide advice on when to recognise that your health may be compromised and how to access the best support in getting you back on track to being well.
  5. Further along, you'll find support for managers. This section provides advice and guidance for people managers on how to support members of your team who may be experiencing health and wellbeing issues. This should be used in conjunction with the PeopleCentre and support from your HR Business Partner.
  6. Finally, you'll see the wellbeing media zone. This area is constantly kept up-to-date with relevant videos and articles. At the moment, the area of focus is having a stress-free Christmas (imagine that!). This page is great for sourcing content for team meetings or wellbeing/safety moments, as well as providing you with food for thought.

However you choose to use the new EAP, we encourage you to do so regularly - either by bookmarking the page in your internet browser, by setting up a personal reminder to update your self-assessment score, or by keeping the service front of mind when facing any issue that life may throw at you.

If you have any questions, you can consult the 'My EAP' page on the website, or contact

Don't skate on thin ice

Over the festive period, did you check your mulled wine wasn’t too hot to drink? Or take a trolley to pick up the big Christmas food shop, instead of straining to carry a heavy basket? These are simple risk assessments we all make in everyday life to keep ourselves and others safe. Yet we sometimes forget to apply the same at work and keep up-to-date with crucial HSEQ changes.

Festive 5 Elf

Mental ‘elf’ comes first

In December 2020, we encouraged everyone to put their mental ‘elf’ front and centre by taking part in Festive 5 – our regional festive Stop Hunger fundraiser. With your support, the activity collectively raised more than £2,700 that will go towards helping those most vulnerable within our local communities.
