Start Safe, Stay Safe graphic

Be alert to out of scope work

Time 50 days ago Comments 0 comments

It's the third week of 2021, and of course the ongoing responsibility of keeping Sodexo's clients happy and providing a consistently great service. But what do you do if you’ve been asked to complete a task that’s not part of Sodexo’s contract?

Carrying out a task that has not been risk assessed to identify the hazards, that you may not be trained to do, is in an area you’re not familiar with, or uses equipment that you’re not trained on - all increases the risk of accidents occurring. No job is ever worth getting hurt for, or causing injury to other people.

Safety must always be the most important consideration.

For advice on what to do when asked to perform out of scope work, download this week's Safety Moment. Share this with your colleagues and give you and them the confidence to ask for help and say ‘no’ if safety is a real concern.
