Sodexo Ireland was named as the Overall Winner at the Excellence in People Development Awards, held by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) on 3 December.

The awards are a ‘Government Action Plan for Jobs’ initiative, designed to recognise excellent standards of employee development within business.

Sodexo was one of eleven Irish organisations to make the finals and Niamh Cray, Head of HR for Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland, said it was a welcome surprise to be named as Overall Winner.

“We’re totally thrilled to win,” said Niamh. “We are a people organisation and this is great recognition for all our employees.”

Sodexo’s entry showcased the success of the Brand Ambassador programme, developed to help employees develop a deeper understanding of our business, and foster a sense of pride in every individual’s contribution.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Minister of State for Business and Employment, Ged Nash T.D. said: “The success of a business or organisation largely depends on its people. Investing in staff creates a knowledge based, efficient workforce which in turn leads to improved business performance, among other benefits for the organisation.”
