Raising BIG money for Stop Hunger

Last Wednesday (6 May), over 500 Sodexo colleagues took part in The BIG Sodexo Quiz. The exclusive one-off event was both a lockdown boredom-buster, and an opportunity to raise some much-needed funds for Stop Hunger’s charity partners.
The quiz started life on the Corporate Services’ Diageo contract, quickly growing to a regional wide event with celebrity hosts – Sodexo Ambassador and England rugby legend, Matt Dawson, alongside quizmaster and star of the Chris Moyle’s show, Rob DJ – delivering a night to remember, with over £1,600 raised by the Sodexo teams taking part.
Ahead of the event, Sodexo’s Regional Leadership Committee (RLC) agreed to match the donations from the quiz, taking the total to £3,341.26 - not bad for an hour's worth of quizzing!
The funds will go to the Stop Hunger emergency relief fund, designed to support long-time charity partners FareShare and The Trussell Trust, who are continuing to provide crucial support for people in need during the current Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.
Those who took part in the quiz were competing for the competitive clout against their colleagues, and some mini prizes, over four categories. We can reveal that the ‘award’ winners are:
-
Winning Team / Individual – three teams submitted an honest score of 27/30. The random winner was picked as ‘The Real Quizzie Rascal’ or the Student Living Team led by Fiona Stewart
-
Best Dressed Individual – the human beer bottle Kevin Church

-
Best Dressed Team – Katie Marie Nicholl and the ‘Hub Warriors’

-
Best Team Name – the very aptly named ‘Panic at the Tesco’
If you have not been contacted to receive your mini prize, please contact Jo Watt so this can be sent out to you.
Congratulations to the overall winners, and a huge thank you to everyone who took part on the night – we hope you all enjoyed it! If you didn’t have chance to join the quiz in real-time, you can still play along on Microsoft Teams by watching the recording here.
